RAIKHLIN SL Led a Clean-Sheet 6-Cylinder Engine Design for Aquarius Engines Ltd.
RAIKHLIN SL served as the lead engine design company for the AQ-150 engine, developed based on a clean-sheet architecture, for Aquarius Engines, an Israeli technology company https://www.aquariusengines.com.
During this period, RAIKHLIN SL was one of the principal partners in the project.
The project involved the development of a new engine concept specifically designed for operation on LPG, CNG, and Hydrogen fuels, while addressing requirements for efficiency, power density, and reliability. The program addressed distinct and challenging development requirements, including the creation of a new engine architecture and its optimization for multi-fuel operation.
The AQ-150 engine is a six-cylinder engine based on a modular engine concept. The architecture allows for the development of derivative configurations, including inline or v-type multi-cylinder variants, derived from the same core design principles.
During the project, a single-cylinder engine was first developed to enable combustion system development, while, in parallel, a six-cylinder engine was designed and manufactured within a compressed development schedule.
An independent third-party performance assessment (*) conducted by BTD – Breuer Technical Development, Belgium, indicates that the AQ-150 engine demonstrates “greater efficiency than the best-performing engine on the market”, supports multiple fuel types, and is “remarkably lightweight and compact”.
RAIKHLIN SL specializes in the development of piston engines for marine, aviation, and off-highway applications, delivering engineering solutions through clean-sheet engine design with a focus on high power-to-weight ratios.
